About Us
The Heart of Putnam (HOP) and the Palatka Christian Service Center (PCSC) were established by the Greater Palatka Ministerial Association (GPMA), now known as the Central Putnam Ministerial Association (CPMA), and began serving the needs of our community in 1992.
PCSC works closely with churches and other organizations to birth new ministries, such as: Heart of Putnam Food Pantry, Heart of Putnam Coalition, Putnam County Re-Entry Program, Putnam County Homeless Coalition, PCSC Cold Weather Shelter, R.L. Simmons House, and more.
PCSC helps residents from all areas of Putnam County who are in a crisis situation. Our staff and volunteers have the means to gather the information necessary to assess the needs of the family or individual and we work diligently to determine the best possible solution to their crisis. We are not a government agency, or an entitled agency. We are a crisis prevention agency, not a maintenance agency. Assistance provided is meant to help the client to avoid or overcome a crisis, not maintain a lifestyle, and clients who receive assistance must be able to show that they can maintain their bills without further assistance after receiving help.?
