Description
Over 20 years ago Clinton R. "Dutch" Snyder and Elizabeth W. Snyder developed the idea of making Palatka another mural community in Florida and giving visitors another reason to visit our city. Their vision was shared by City Commissioner Leon Conlee who along with the Snyders and many other interested volunteers established the Leon Conlee Mural Committee. The Committee's goal was to utilize murals to help revitalize downtown Palatka and share art that depicted our local history in public places. Now known as the Conlee-Snyder Mural Committee, the organization has depicted Palatka's culture and history in 25 murals throughout downtown. The latest addition is the Veterans' Memorial mural which is awaiting funding for its completion. John Alexander, Chairman of the Conlee-Snyder Mural Committee and Robbie Correa, Director will present the lecture & PowerPoint presentation.
